Being overweight significantly increases your risk of heart disease, diabetes, stroke, high blood pressure, cancer, --the list seems almost endless. Plus if you do get sick or need surgery, being overweight can make any treatment riskier.

Though being overweight is a big issue, there are lot of things you can do to reduce almost all the risks the come with it. Among some of the easiest things you can do to help you lose weight are:

1.  Indulging in high-calorie tasting, but low-calorie; treat one a week. This can help keep you feeling deprived and bringing on higher-calorie foods.

2.  Treat high-calorie foods as jewels in the crown and also make spoonful of ice cream the jewel and a bowl of fruit the crown.

3.  After breakfast, make water your primary drink. At breakfast, go a head and drink orange juice, but throughout the rest of the day, focus on water instead of juice or soda. Make sure to drink 8 to 10 glasses of water every day. With adequate water intake, your body will be able to metabolize fat more effectively.


4.  Eat five or six small meals or snacks a day instead of three large meals.

5.  Try to walk for 45 minutes a day. If you are able to do so, you can lose about 30 pounds in a year without even changing how much you are eating.
